Neuro Bike Fit
Neurological Bike Fit
The Neuro Bike Fit aims to enhance your riding ability and reduce the risk of injury by adapting your nervous system to the bike. If you haven't had a specialist perform a traditional bike fit, I recommend doing so before coming for a Neuro Bike Fit. Note that I do not make any adjustments to your bike.

Potential Benefits:

-
Designed to increase power and efficiency for a better overall riding experience while reducing the risk of injury.
-
Complements your personal bike setup without making any changes to it.

Understanding the SMR Theory:

-
The SMR theory states that over a lifetime, the nervous system develops dysfunctional movement patterns that can lead to non-optimal firing patterns when cycling, including inhibition as a safety response.
-
The nervous system prefers to function optimally and can adapt rapidly when properly prompted by specific gentle manipulation.

Process:

-
Your bike will be mounted on a Tacx trainer for the Neuro Bike Fit. This setup allows me to test you in various positions throughout the pedal stroke range of motion.
-
Please bring your shorts, helmet, and cleated shoes for the final session.

Sessions:

-
First Session: 90 minutes. I assess and treat you while clothed, performing specific manual muscle tests as you lie on the treatment table.
-
Second and Third Sessions: 50 minutes each. We focus on translating muscle functionality from the treatment table to more complex positions, such as seated and standing.
-
Fourth Session: Bike assessment. Additional sessions may be required for clients with chronic issues or extensive injury histories, potentially totaling five sessions.

Equipment:
-
I have a range of axles to mount your bike onto the Tacx system. However, there have been instances where none of them fit, in which case we may need to use your home indoor training setup.

Note:
-
Be prepared for some unconventional techniques merging eastern acupoint therapies, neuroscience, and functional movement.
